Birthday is the most exciting day in anyone’s life



Birthday cakes are cakes that are cut and eaten as part of our birthday celebrations. When we cut the cake it makes our day special. Cake cutting was not a part of our previous tradition. But, with time, it has become common for everyone to cut the cake on their birthday. It makes us happy and our birthday party is not complete without cutting the cake.

This tradition has a long history in the past and dates back many centuries when the ancient Egyptians followed it. He called the event of the coronation of the pharaoh the day of his 'birth'. But, the tradition of cake cutting was started by the ancient Greeks. To pay homage to Artemis, the goddess of the moon, on her birthday, they would make a moon-shaped cake decorated with candles.

The first actual cake-cutting phenomenon began in Germany in the Middle Ages. But, there was no custom of giving, only good wishes were given. With time, the tradition became a custom and people started making cakes on their birthdays. Cake cutting on birthdays has become very common now a days.
